We are delighted that Irish Examiner did an article about Love Mo Chuisle on today’s edition “Getting business pulses racing with a twist on tweed.”
The article talks a little about the revive and new life of the tweed thanks to people like Anna Dobson and her brand LOVE MO CHUISLE that is putting the modern spin on the classic Irish fabric with its range of handmade clothing for men, women, and children.
Ana talked about the creation of the brand in 2017 and the desire to bring tweed clothing into the 21st century with a look that’s “more fashion than heritage” with new colours and new models all made from 100% Donegal wool.
The brand has had great support from tourists, and the business has grown rapidly.
After her victory in the Arts category of Ireland’s Wicklow Network of Business of the Year 2018, Ana launched the Love Mo Chuisle’s website in September 2018 and plans to develop it this year to push direct sales in the US and other countries.
Also, with the presence in Showcase Ireland in January, the creative exhibition of fashion, jewellery and gifts attended by around 5,000 buyers from more than 20 countries, the brand received much interest from international buyers and has secured stocks in the US, Germany and France, while wholesalers in Italy, Belgium, and Canada put orders forward.
Meanwhile, stockists across Ireland include The Design Loft at Powerscourt Estate, Kilkenny Design Centre, Shannon Airport Duty-Free, the gift shop at Bunratty Castle, and outlets in the North.
Ana has recently moved the company’s production from her home to a premises in Avoca village and plans to open a retail unit at the front of the building next month.
The future is looking bright for Love Mo Chuisle with plans to showcase at one of two big tradeshows in Boston or Chicago in the near future.
Thank you, Irish Examiner, for this, it was a pleasure and an honour.
